Estate Sales - Estate sales are generally sales of all the furniture from the home of someone who has passed away. Quite often these are older people who have furniture from an earlier generation. This is an excellent way to be able to get a hold of vintage furniture. Usually, you can look in your local newspaper's classified ads to see where an estate sale is being held. Some of these are in a sale format, of first-come first serve, and others are in an auction format. In either case you may be impressed at how affordably you can find the dining room sideboard you need
To give it that shiny exterior, you can use linseed or lemon oil to polish the surface. Or buy furniture products that are specially made for oak. Just stay clear of those made of harsh chemicals as they could leave stains. Organic would be a much better choice. Now, there are touch up kits which you can also buy from stores that’s specifically made to help you keep your colored oak tables and chairs in tip top shape. But you have to read the instructions carefully before you apply so you do not risk damaging the exterior. It would also be best if you adapt a schedule for polishing your oak fixtures so they’d be easier to maintain.
